Juxtaposition and Prepositions

Another great tip for creativity is found through the use of prepositions. You can shake up a juxtaposition of two or more things by exploring all of the prepositional phrases possible to be exploited using it. Take this example:

Mars, and Bathtubs
  • In- Mars in in a bathtub. How can this work? The volume of the planet Mars is 16.318(10^10 km^3)  so it should, if placed in a very large bathtub, displace as much water. I think is how that works.
  • On- Mars on a bathtub? Or a bathtub on Mars? I guess that one makes more sense. All them canals and all that.
  • Around- a bathtub around Mars. Call it Russel's Bathtub.
  • Over- a bathtub, over Mars, floating there like a squeaky-clean monolith. Or Mars over a bathtub, ready to crush it.
  • Between- A Mars sandwich, made of a Mars, a bathtub, and another bathtub.
  • Under- beneath the surface of the Red Planet, something is waiting... being porcelain. Explains all the water they found down there.
