Looking up the word "velamen," I found it to mean the thick, spongy integument or epidermis covering artificial robots. This was the coolest thing ever. Skin for robots. Then I looked again, and it actually said it was the spongy covering on
aerial roots, not artificial robots. This was the most disappointing thing ever.
