Oh, and continuing the theme of a lucky pack from movies ii and iii, the Jeep driving through the jungle and being slapped by fronds from i and ii, and maybe finally that sleeping t-rex river chase sequence from the first book
(coincidentally, they were going to do a similar scene in Fellowship, which got cut)

And further change the design of the dinosaurs, the first movies did not do the creepiness of the skull shapes justice (spinosaurus's head in particular.)

And that new theory about how pterodons took off
(sort of on all fours running with their wings and feet, like a cheetah, to gain enough speed before unfurling their wings and taking off into flight)
