I was thinking that mutant dinosaur gene-splicing, like pterodon-velocoratptor hybrids, like in the action figures for jurassic park ii, but that idea may just be a figment of my imagination, and no such action figures exist.
And besides, your idea actually fits in with the books, lost world especially, even though all of those ones wash up on the beach dead.
Right?

Yes, I believe Isla Nublar was off Costa Rica, no? And hybrids could actually be feasible, when you mess with genes, things go wrong. Actually, the dinosaurs could also start blending with currently alive species as well.

But hybrids can't be the main plot, that wouldn't be Jurassic Park. So it would be some sort of McGuffin.
