Like, short story contests and anthologies, magazines and things especially.

I've written couplets that I think are worthy of at least
submitting to (and this is going to sound crazy) the New Yorker? But, um, yeah,
I've been flipping through that big old book of all the magazines and what kind
of submissions they select and stuff- what's that called? The Writer's Market?

Oh yeah, That's definitely worth checking out. And, the New
Yorker? I wasn't aware they accepted much... well, I don't know.

They do poetry alongside the doodling and the endless short
stories (meaning, of course, the stories don't have proper endings- to make
them more arty perhaps?)

What's important is getting stuff written first, before we
can submit. (Funny how that works.) You have anything particularly
short-story-ish?

Yeah, mostly the time travel artifact one, the future Africa
one, and such.
